Rick Hansen returns to China to celebrate Man in Motion World Tour 25th Anniversary
The Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary International Program is an initiative developed as a global call-to-action to further progress in spinal cord injury (SCI) research and treatment and work towards more accessible and inclusive communities around the world.
In April 2011, a delegation from the Rick Hansen Foundation and Rick Hansen Institute will return to China, 25 years after Rick Hansen's visit to that country on the Man In Motion World Tour. For two weeks in April the delegation will travel to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
The team has developed an itinerary that aims to inspire the next generation of difference makers through youth forums and a symbolic Relay; to recognize individuals who have made a significant impact in the areas of accessibility, research for a SCI cure, and community leaders; and to further establish and secure international collaboration in the areas of research for a cure, and accessibility initiatives.
