Gordon Warnica

Hometown: Fall River, NS

Gordon has devoted his whole life to active living and has hiked, ran and paddled a canoe all over the world. Gordon has facilitated running events which began as small community races and have grown to large international events. As a retired professional engineer, Gordon teaches a "learn-to-run" course encouraging many people in his community to live healthy.

Gordon's drive to make a difference is rooted in the valuable lessons he learned from his father, a man who grew up in the Great Depression and walked to school on cardboard soles (uphill, both ways, in a snow storm!) His father taught him the importance to live, laugh and love.

Gordon is thankful for the opportunity to take part in the Relay because "the original Tour helped open the eyes of the public to the abilities of those in wheelchairs," said Gordon. "I ran with Rick on his last trip through Nova Scotia 25 years ago and welcome the chance to do it again."
